Terms of use
  1. The content and design of tools developed by the PEN consortium may not be used in any way for commercial purposes. In general, the use of items for scientific research is allowed, with the corresponding acknowledgement of the PEN project (see 2).
  2. In any publication or report with data being collected utilising the provided tools it is required to cite the PEN project. The appropriate manner of citation is indicated at the PEN website, where the corresponding tool can be downloaded from:
    • An example, the EU policy indicators catalogue must be cited as follows:
      Stanley I, Murrin CM, Neumann-Podczaska A, Wieczorowska-Tobis K. Hebstreit A et al. Policy Evaluation Network (PEN) D2.1.3 Catalogues providing an overview of monitoring and surveillance datasets for key policy indicators. 2020
    • The format of the citation may vary according to the reference style
    • When utilising an altered form of the PEN tools, this must be clearly specified on the resulting publication (“adapted from”) followed by the name of the tool and the corresponding citation.
    • Only members of the PEN consortium are allowed to publish these tools, after approval by its Steering Group and always in compliance with the project’s Publication Rules and with the Consortium Agreement.
